It's made with 0.75 inch thick wood which is elevated at a height of 6 inch from ground with height of 8-11 inch depending upon size you select. The planter height is deep enough to accommodate and ensure various types of plants, their roots can breathe and grow with the required ecosystem. It is an eco-friendly gardening product especially targeted for urban houses to create your own micro gardening spaces in your terrace/balcony/patio/small gardens and for those who want to be close to nature. The product is very easy to assemble with guided instructions and is elevated bed which makes the gardening space convenient for cleaning underneath.
The planter comes with strong elevated caps for the feet to protect them from water rot. It also comes along with 250 GSM liner separating the wooden planter wall from wet soil which gives the planter even more longevity with self-draining holes for excess water to drain out protecting plants from waterlogging. Some wood pieces may also have a natural hole which is the pith of the tree (innermost circle). This will not harm or affect the planter in any way. The planters are specially curated with loads of love and we have tried to maintain its natural beauty as much. You may find black/brown/white patches sometimes which are all natural pine wood and we have retained all that. Please check the product’s dimension prior to ensure it will fit your available space/location of your choice. Please also check that the product will fit through the entrance gate /door once assembled or choose to assemble in the place where you want to keep the planter. Please expect an unevenness of 5-10 mm in the product due to differences in surfaces and floor.
What kind of Potting Soil for a Vegetable Garden?
- 3 parts Garden Soil (You can take any soil even reuse from old pots)
- 2 parts Coco Peat/Peat Moss
- 1 part Compost or Vermicompost
- 1 part Manure like Cow Dung and /or Goat manure
- 1 part Neem Cake / Mustard cake / Bone Meal
- 1 part Vermiculite/Perlite or Rice husks (if available locally)
- 3 tablespoons Dalchini Powder (it has antifungal properties and it protects your veggies and plants)
Optional: Add dry leaves, rice husk or any such organic matter. You can also add 0.5 portion of coarse sand to the above mixture but these are completely optional.
